Reporting incidents, near misses hazards and MRRs is a fundamental element to a robust safety culture, with reports submitted within 24 hours (or as reasonably practicable) into the safety reporting system (www.ericksonsafety.com). For purposes of reporting, near misses and incidents are to be reported as an “Incident Report” with hazards reported as a “Hazard Report”. The following definitions shall apply:
Near Miss: Events or situations which have the potential for causing injury to personnel, damage to equipment, structures or the environment, loss of materiel, or reduction of the ability to perform a prescribed function was present, identified and successfully managed before causing injury, damage, or loss.
Incident: An occurrence or event that causes injury or illness to people, environmental impact or property damage (both Erickson property or 3rd party property).
Hazard: An existing or new condition, object, or activity with the potential for causing injury to personnel, damage to equipment, structures, or the environment, loss of materiel, or results in the reduction of the ability to perform a prescribed function.
MRR: Maintenance Reliability Report - This is used to report service difficulties on articles such as defects or maintenance difficulty discoveries..
